One Key Performance Indicator for Automotive Dealers

During my years in digital marketing, We've worked with dozens of dealers around the country. Frankly, auto dealers have been early adopters of digital media marketing since they first launched websites. And there are all kind of ways to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing.


But for auto dealers, consider the importance of the viewership of vehicle detail pages. What's a vehicle detail page? Every vehicle at every dealership has a single web page outlining all its features or details. It presents pictures of the car an all the relevant details about it (engine, interior, etc.) Research tells us that more views of these pages lead to web visitor more likely to buy from that dealer. It's the web's version of an "up." If a car shoppers look at vehicles, they're more likely to buy one.


So, auto dealers should track this important measuring tool: Vehicle Detail Pageviews per user or session.


How does a dealer do that? That's a good question. And with the transition to the new version of Google Analytics happening July 1, 2023, it's a bit more confusing to get at that data. That's why we've been studying Google Analytics 4 so that we can help dealers (and any other business) get their analytics data structured properly.
